February I 01

All we want for Easter is an engine and a prop!

Well it’s almost ready to fly. The prop is finished and waiting to be shipped from the Czech Republic and we understand the engine is due to go on the test stand today. Providing the engine tests go satisfactorily, the engine, prop, mount and spinner (all overhauled and ready to go) should be in New Zealand within two weeks, after being air freighted from the Czech Republic.

Then it’s only a matter of bolting it in. Sounds simple doesn’t it ñ we’re just hoping that all the wiring, plumbing and control terminations that we need are with the engine. If it’s all there then there shouldn’t be a problem being at Wanaka.

And yes, I know you’re going to ask what colour is it. In a previous newsletter we’d said it was going to be green, but Ray didn’t like green, so it’s grey. This is an authentic colour and scheme as used by the Chinese and we think it looks pretty damn good! It’ll look even better when it’s in the air.

More news shortly.

Regards

Garth
